Susie Isaacs learned to play poker growing up in Tennessee. She first learned how to play the game from her male cousins. Later in her life, she moved to Atlanta and started playing in games there. In Atlanta, she’d build up a bankroll and then take a trip to Las Vegas. Her third trip to Las Vegas was the lucky one – she finally worked up the nerve to play at a poker table.

Susie was a social player at first, playing in low-stakes games just for the fun, competition and camaraderie. After her divorce, she knew she could no longer afford to lose, so she became a serious student of the game. She studied books and went to seminars to become a better player. In 1995, she even spent a few months taking lessons from a professional poker coach.

All the hard work paid big dividends at the table. Susie is an accomplished tournament winner. She has a fairly conservative style of tournament play and a more aggressive style in cash games.

Susie was instrumental in helping the magazine “Card Player” get its start. She sold ads for the first issues and went on to write for the magazine as well. Her controversial and entertaining “Chip Chatter” column is one of the most talked about parts of the magazine.
Susie is also a writer for “Poker Digest”. In over a decade of writing, she’s authored more than 300 articles about poker, poker players, and card games. Susie has also written a fiction novel, titled “White Knight, Black Nights”.

Susie’s long list of poker accomplishments includes the following:
· Two World Series of Poker bracelets.
· Seventeenth ranking on the All Time Women’s Money List.
· $169,979 career tournament winnings.
· Tenth place finish at the 1998 World Series of Poker.
