Chris Ferguson has been playing poker since he was 10 years old. He continued playing for very small stakes with friends throughout high school. In college, he made the occasional trip to Las Vegas, where he was captivated by the competition at the $2-$4 games.
His academic career and his poker career continued in tandem, as he worked toward his doctorate in Computer Science, studying artificial intelligence. He brought the same intellectual concentration to his poker game as he used game theory and Bayesian Statistics to study poker and develop strategies. A big blackjack winning brought him into the higher stakes poker games, where he put his knowledge to work.
Chris is a very deliberate and analytical player. He works out strategies away from the table, using computer model to compute the odds and develop approaches for different card combinations. He is soft-spoken and polite at the table as he deploys his highly calculated methods of play.
The scholarly approach to poker has paid off for Chris. He's won over 3 million dollars of prize money. His accomplishments include the following:

· The main event of the 2000 World Series of Poker
· 5 World Series of Poker bracelets
· Over $3.2 million in total winnings
· A ranking of 12 on the all-time money list
In addition to his active tournament play, Chris had an interest in Internet poker. In 2002, he formed a team to design the software for Full Tilt Poker. Chris is still active in the software design and representation of Full Tilt Poker. He plays a minimum of 10 hours a week online at www.fulltiltpoker.com.
You might think that all this work gives Chris little time for fun, but he does have interesting hobbies including swing dancing and day trading.
